Thankful Turkeys and Black Friday!

I had some last minute craftiness and created Jordonna a turkey shirt with some scraps and ribbon. These shirts are for sale all over Etsy, and while the "inspiration" link isn't exactly the one I went with, you get the idea. I used everything I had on hand, which explains a pink shirt for Thanksgiving, but the ribbon matched, so HA! Free craft :)

Too bad I didn't take her picture in her shirt, but so you can get an idea that I can be creative...

Thanksgiving was at MawMaw and Poppy's this year. Tony and Jordonna loved helping MawMaw in the kitchen and I searched the sale ads to plan out my route to conquer as soon as Black Friday hit. I was determined to get as much done as possible with so many stores at my fingertips and a babysitter - more on that later.

Check out the turkeys in the kitchen... :)

And four little turkeys who were thankful to finally be eating

The Consilio family has grown so much that we now have to bring in an extra table for us to all fit around.

Black Friday:

Just blocks away from my in-laws are every store I would need to do my Christmas shopping. I went to bed with the kids at 8pm and woke at 11 to head to Walmart for a new sewing machine. YEA!! Then it was back home to nap until 3am. Up and at 'em - we have a line to wait in! Richard drove me to ________ (insert store name here after Christmas and wondering eyes of children won't see the store and know their gift) They were to open their doors at 4am and the line was around the side of the building. I got out (with a blanket I brought from my in-laws) and wrapped up tight for the next hour. Richard tried standing in line with me but I couldn't afford to give up any of the blanket. I offered for him to wait in the car if I didn't have to share the blanket. Did mention it was 30 degrees and didn't have our coats? At 4am the doors opened and the started letting the line in. As the line is moving up they are counting people off - I was #70 and the guy behind me was asked if he was with me. He said no he was alone and they shut the doors behind me and he had to wait outside. I ran to get the item I needed to only then realize that I had sent my purse with Richard to the car. I didn't have any way to pay for my one item and they weren't letting people in - they had to wait in line. I quickly told them that my husband really didn't need to come inside I just wanted my purse from him - they let him in. The guy who was waiting in line behind me finally got in the store and in passing said next time we are in line together - we are going in together. Poor guy! I wonder if he got what he was coming for? So far so good - have picked up everything I set out for. Then it was off to Target and Old Navy. No luck at Old Navy but Target cleared most of our list.

Next on our "To Do" list - get this stuff home without any of the kids seeing it on the ride home...OOPS. Perhaps I didn't plan as well as I had thought!
