Thanksgiving 2013

There were lots of prayers leading up to Thanksgiving that we would all be healthy enough for us to spend Thanksgiving at the farm.  Nonnie's numbers had been low and had been told she couldn't be around anyone who had been sick.  We made the cut and headed straight there our first day out of school.  I stayed until Tuesday morning.  My mom had to work both Monday and Tuesday, along with Richard.  During my 4 days there my mom and I shopped, enjoyed Starbucks, and sewed!

The kids wanted to surprise Nonnie one day so they set to cleaning.  Jordonna was upset she couldn't reach the blades in the living room so she had this fan to herself to clean.

It was a cold week, so before anyone could head out to play, everyone had to bundle up.  This was  a solo day for PawPaw since I was heading home to get Josh and Richard to come back for the rest of the week.

My mom and I made these beauties out of a paint drop cloth! How crazy is that??

Jordonna loves everything my mom makes her and was excited to wear her new Thanksgiving dress to church on Sunday.

We mastered the infamous Jack Reimer fruit salad.  My Granddaddy had a meticulous way of making this salad.  You cut the oranges a certain way and you mix each fruit in, in a certain order.

We made new stockings from my design of mixing multiple ideas from Pinterest.  They must have been well liked since my mom made some for her house and my brother requested some for him and his girls.

After a great and much needed relaxing week, we stopped by Goliad to enjoy an extra Thanksgiving meal with Richard's cousin.  Richard went hunting and shot a deer! WooHoo - meat in our freezer!  On Saturday,  we headed home so that I could begin the process of decorating for Christmas.  I love our Christmas skirt - same one my mom made by hand when my brother and I were kids.  I have it under our tree now!
