The Gronch

If there is one thing that Jordonna loves, it is our church's Christmas production of The Gronch.  She has pretty much the entire play memorized.  She loves the dance she does in her part of the play and she loves that she has permission to wear makeup.  We spent most weekends from Halloween until mid-December preparing for the 4 nightly performances.

This year the invited dress rehearsal fell on the same evening of my graduation, but no worries with plans to eat sandwiches in the car right after graduation, on the way home, we made it in plenty of time.  Fancy graduation, dinner, huh?

She looks pathetically sad here because she thought the show was starting (they were just doing cast pictures).  A friend from school had promised to be there this evening and the auditorium was empty. Once the show started, she spotted him in a packed house and right before the lights came up she yells, "BRODY!"  so the smile quickly returned.

Here she is with The Gronch.  She has 2 goals for The Gronch (Please let them still be doing this in a timely manner for her!)  She wants to be Cindy Lou Hoo one year to be The Gronch's friend.  The other role she wants is to play Martha Mae Hoovier.

And new this year, Tony is determined to have a part next year.  His part is to be one of the boys that taunts The Gronch on his mountain and tells the town that he is in town.  This is a big step for Tony.  He didn't want us letting Jordonna participate last year for fear she was too young and The Gronch was scary.
