Love and Logic Backfire

About a year ago, most of our back to school inservice was focused on a program called Love and Logic. Not only did I take this into my classroom at the time, but I brought it home and used it with the boys. Since it takes 1 month per year of age to correct learned behaviors, it didn't work as well on the two older boys as it did Tony. Click HERE to read about some of the Love and Logic stories we experienced at the time.

Well, a year later Tony is now using it against me...

While shopping yesterday, we stopped to have an early dinner. Next door to the restaurant is a playground that we normally let Tony play on while we wait for a table. Of course as soon as we get out of the car he asks to play. I tell him if we have to wait for a table he can play, otherwise he will have to play after we eat, while waiting for his daddy to pay for our meal. Tony says to me, “I’m going to play before we eat. It’s my choice!”
