Technology did not play nice

Yesterday was my last staff development for this month. I was presenting Thinking Maps and wanted to incorporate technology. If it could go wrong, it did. QR codes would not read for participants, live binders deleted their work twice, and the tinryurl didn't let them into the site. Thankfully, the afternoon went well (yes, this all before lunch) and the participants were excited about what we were doing, but sadly there was no technology at that point. How can I get my teachers to use technology if what they see in SD fails and good ole' teaching was what hooked them. Granted if they will use good strong higher level thinking skills the results can be good, but our kids need the technology...that's where we are in society.
So after being so frustrated and upset about bumps in my presentation, I was looking forward to working out with my trainer to relieve stress. It was a good workout until he said 20 minutes on the stair climber. That did not happen, just not there yet. So after 5 minutes I moved to the elliptical and got in a good 20 minutes there. A nice 10 minutes in the sauna and I was ready to head back to office for a bit and go home to cook dinner. By the time we ate and cleaned up, I was ready with the kids for bed. 9:30 all is quite, except I was tossing. Didn't feel like I was asleep but my husband kept shoving in me because he said I was snoring and not a normal snore. All night I dreamed of the stair climber and Thinking Maps, tossing every second. Needless to say I did not wake refreshed as I had hoped this morning, but no worries. I realized around 8pm last night on way back from office that I am off the rest of the week.
After yesterday, I'd say I earned these four days off just in that one day!
