Today's Lesson

I headed out of town this week to attend a conference.  Twice while I was away I say this field of sunflowers posted on FB.  To say I was jealous would be an understatement.  I wanted to see them for myself.  I finally found out that the field was right on our way home.  In fact, all we had to do was get off the interstate and it was right there on the feeder.  However; we didn't go the easy way to see them at first, we went through town and came to the backside of the 40+ acres.

The picture above shows you the view and reception we got from the sunflowers.  What a great science lesson, right?  Every flower was turned away from us so we got back in our car and headed to the feeder and was shown an amazing show of flowers!

Is that not amazing??  And just to give you a bit more perspective to how massive the sunflowers were...
Keep in mind, I am 5'6 and most were taller than myself!  Of course I could not keep my hands off them and wanted to touch and see their seeds.  The bees were not happy that I was in their territory so I had to contain my science nerd self and move on but so glad I got pictures.
