Festival of Lights

We love Festival of Lights! Every year the city offers so many free things for the kids, which free always works for us.  The kids love the bungee jump and the snow is always a favorite.  There are always at least 10 different bounce houses to explore and you have to see Santa before you leave for the day.  And if you want to, you can have a seat and watch all the local studios and groups perform throughout the day.

This year it was just Jordonna.  Tony was at the farm and of course the two older boys are just too cool to spend a day in public playing with kids and their parents.  We (Jordonna and I) started the morning out with a girls day...pedis and breakfast, then we meet Daddy at the FOL.

Jordonna had a rock in her hand the whole time she was waiting to see Santa.  When she went up to sit on his lap, I asked her if I could hold her rock.  "No, Mommy! This is my present for Santa.  He brings us things and I don't have anything else to give him." AWW, sweet girl!

There was no snow this year, but instead the city brought in  ice skating!  I had on flip flops (Uh, I just had my toes done!) so I wasn't allowed inside the rink area at all.  Daddy had to help Jordonna even though she didn't want any help at all.  This ice rink was the coolest - it's NOT ice...it is PLASTIC! Do you see the edges in the picture above? They are like tiles that are pieced together but ultra slick, just like ice so the ice skates (which are real ice skates) just slide right across the plastic/ice as if there is no difference.

One of the booths were set up to take free pictures, of course you only get to choose one. It was set up like a photo booth so they had Christmas decor and hats to choose from. They send the pictures to your email for you to print.  This was Jordonna's - so cute!

That evening was the FOL parade and Jordonna rode on the float for ballet.  She enjoyed the first few minutes waving at people and then she was done - she kept asking where all the other floats where?  A parade of people was not fun!  HA - she'd rather be a spectator, than the participant.

Thanksgiving is this week and then Christmas will be right around the corner! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
