We spent this Thanksgiving at the farm for the very first time. It was small, un-stressful, and quite! Dylan and Richard both had to work and things to take care so they left on Friday while the rest of us stayed the weekend.
It was also the first time I did not do "Black Friday." It was nice to not have to fight the crowds and figure out a game plan for stores! We did go to Brenham that afternoon and walked through the shops downtown. I found the perfect table for my kitchen. But even better was the after lunch treat - I discovered BlueBell's pumpkin pie ice cream!! SO GOOD! I called home and told Richard to head to the store and find it NOW...ha!
Saturday morning, the kids and I headed into town to the German Festival and just to play at the park. They really surprised me at how much they enjoyed the sausage on a stick.
After some shopping and dinner, we went back to the German festival with my parents to enjoy some of the live music. They had a Chicken Dance competition that Tony and Jordonna actually participated in. I wasn't surprised that Jordonna wanted to do it, but for Tony to want to was a surprise. They didn't win because the loud drunk woman was obnoxious and everyone went with her. That's ok, kids, you actually knew the dance! Way to go!!
