Even though I slacked Sunday evening and did not finish my portfolio until 10am Monday morning for my 11am interview, it has paid off. The interview committee was very impressed with the portfolio I shared with them. I am so happy that I took the advice of a co-teacher, Libby, and created a new resume' (vita). That thing was 3 pages long! When I was asked about organization, they said they can just take a look at my portfolio and see how close I pay attention to details. Not bad for slacking, huh?
This time around the interview was so easy. I had to apologize for going off a couple of questions, but then it turned out that I basically was answering the next question. Also, the current science teacher mentor was on the interview committee and let me just say I could not have asked for a better reference than Luann herself! At one point I mentioned how I had teachers I did not know calling me for help on various topics. Luann says, "That's because of me. When they call asking for help and I'm not sure or can't help them, I tell them to call you." Seriously, if you have someone on the interview committee admitting they call on the candidate for help, how can they not hire me??
Well...
THEY DID HIRE ME!!! I am the new Science Coach/Mentor for PreK-4th Grade!!!! I can not be more excited!
After making all my phone calls to share the great news, my husband calls me back and brings me back to reality to remind me I now have to clean out my classroom!! :( Realizing that kinda made me sad. Guess we will be putting out attic to use finally to store my classroom. Not sure when I will start, but I'll keep you posted of all to come!

Congratulations, Sandra! There was no doubt in my mind. It is hard to clean out that classroom for sure, but the excitement of new possibilities makes it a little bit easier.
