A week in review

Of course had the computer been working last week, I would not have found anything to share, but since it wasn't working I have lots to quickly update on.

1st - Last Monday I had my surgery and things went fine with the surgery. Wish I could say the same about the recovery. Those of you who shared with me how easy it is must of not had it done or were lucky with a quick recovery. Here is it over a week later and I am ready to feel normal again and for the pain to be GONE!!

2nd- Since Richard had taken the week off last week to help me at home with the kids while I was recovering, he wanted to get to Dallas to see his parents. We left on Thursday as soon as the doctor saw me and said my navel was not infected - just hurting from a very deep stitch inside. OUCH!!! While in DFW we took Tony to a 4th of July Festival on Friday where he enjoyed face painting, moon walks, cotton candy, music and fireworks. I woke up Saturday morning with the worst pain in my right side. I called my sister-in-law who could tell in my voice I was in pain and said I needed to call my surgeon. Of course calling him, meant telling him I headed out of town after seeing him on Thursday. At first he tells me to meet him at the ER, until he finds out where I am and tells me to get to an ER - I might possibly have a blood clot in my lung! WHAT??? Seriously? That's what I would get for being hard headed and not listening to everyone to stay home after just having surgery and a spot removed on my back 4 days prior. Thankfully, all my tests showed everything to be normal and they think it was just too much walking the day before that moved around the gas from the surgery (that, or all the prayers of my family when my surgeon said he thought it was a blood clot.) That evening we grilled burgers at my in-laws and their neighbors. We also found the cutest pink jumper/exersaucer for Jordonna at a children's resale shop in Arlington (will be making a regular stop there on each of my visits!) Sunday afternoon, we took the kids to the FW Stockyards and Tony had a blast. And let me just say, we are super excited that the Buc-ee's on 45 is now open. I now know where our mid-way potty break will be :).

You can't say we didn't try to get a family picture. Can you tell it was the end of the day?

Tony and Daddy searching for the letters M A Z E in the maze at the stockyards. This is the same maze they did on the Amazing Race Season 5. It took them 18 minutes to finish!

Tony's Longhorn span
Texas Colosseum (someone please tell me if that is the correct spelling???)
This didn't take as long as the maze!

Happy 4th of July!!
(no Tony does not have on makeup, it is from the night before and was difficult to get off)
The new I45 Buc-ee's is OPEN!!!

And last, but not least...Tomorrow is my first day on my new job. I have a TIP Master Team Meeting in the morning and then job training for instructional coaches in the afternoon. Next week I work Tuesday-Thursday and Tuesday the following week. That will be my 5 days for July, have to put in 5 more days in August which have been taken care of also...only problem - I didn't leave any days to move into my office. Oh well, I am so excited to have this job and can't wait to get started!
