Every Tuesday evening we have football games. I of course still make my menus every weekend and do the weeks worth of shopping before Monday arrives. Every evening our schedule is tight - home at 5:30 after picking everyone up and all the practices are over, dinner, homework, bathes, and bedtime all by 8pm. Having football interrupt that schedule can make dinner at home difficult so on game nights we rely on our crockpot to have our dinner ready when we get home. And because I use my crockpot regularly, some of you have been asking for my recipes - so here they are. Each week I will put a new crock pot recipe you can come and try out. Hope they come in handy and help you create something new and save you some time!
1st Crockpot Tuesday recipe - an Oldie, but favorite for our crockpot:
Roast and Veggies
1 roast
potatoes
carrots
onion (optional)
salt
pepper
garlic(powder or minced)
1 can cream of mushroom
1 pkg powder onion soup mix
This one I prepare the night before and all I have to do in the morning is place the pot in holder and plug in.
Place roast in the pot. Cover with peeled and diced potatoes and carrots. Season to your taste with garlic, salt and pepper. Sprinkle with onion soup mix and then cover with cream of mushroom. Cook on low 6-7 hours.
If you tend to notice that your roast comes out too watery, place a toothpick under the lid of the crockpot while cooking.
