Not sure what happened to the past month...
so let me finally update my blog and see if I can remember where the month has gone. It all started with me going back to work fulltime on Aug 10, which is the day after my last post - go figure! I guess I'll start there - my first week back and every week since has been great. I love my new job and look forward to going to work each day and making such a difference for all my teachers. Tony started kindergarten with a good start. Granted I don't sleep well at night worrying that he will be at risk for being bullheaded because he refuses to do any of his letters or numbers for anyone (including me) except for Mrs. Standlee. She says he has counted to 20 for her, I'm lucky if I get him to count to 5! It takes someone SUPER SPECIAL to take on a classroom full of 5 year olds! Josh and Dylan are in 8th and 9th grades. Josh is playing football once again and is starting quarterback for the B team (I like that he's on B team - means we play the first game and get to come home and put 4 kids to bed a bit closer to bed time than 10pm). Dylan is participating on the swim team and hopefully will make the meets once they start up. The best part so far about my new job and all the kids back in school is each morning I wake up in time to make them a hot breakfast - 3 weeks strong so far! and I get to drop them all off at school. Our mornings are GREAT time together. The morning looks like this -6:00 everyone is up, sitting at the breakfast table together, 6:30 kids are knocking on my bedroom door to get their clothes that are sorted in baskets in the top of my closet for each day of the week (do this on Sunday after making my menu for the week) 7:05 Josh yells for everyone to LOAD UP! We drop off Josh, then Jordonna (who is at Mrs. Debbie's again this year), Tony is next and Dylan rides with me to my office and walks across the street to the high school. At 3:30, he comes back to my office and hangs out or helps other facilitators with odd jobs until it is time to leave at 4:30, then we make the rounds again - pick up Jordonna, pick up Tony from after school Connections, then Josh from football practice. Then its home to cook whatever is on the menu I made the previous Sunday. And to top off my incredible days with my children - they are all in bed each night by 8pm! I LOVE IT!!!! Granted the past 2 nights, Mrs. Queenbee Jordonna who is becoming quite talkative (says Mama and Dada, and we have already thought for sometime she was saying bubba) has decided that once the house is quite at 8pm that it is for her benefit to share her own stories. So, that should catch you up in our busy household. If you are worn out from that, come back next week - we start football games on Tuesday nights and don't forget about church on Wednesday nights. Off to bed for me - 5:30 comes awfully early, but when you are loving life, mornings are SO EASY!
