What Do Police Stations, The Facts and Pinewood Have In Common?

They are all Boy Scout events from this month! (Pinewood Derby and the newspaper coming up next)

The boys were able to tour the police station thanks to my dad for setting up the "Go and See It." He had the fire station open for us to tour as well. And for an added bonus when we arrived, the EMS was there for a tour of the ambulance.

The boys heard about all the ins and outs of the police cars, including what is stored in the trunk, and Tony attempted a test drive. The K-9 officer showed up and visited with the boys for awhile. Unfortunately they didn't get to meet the K-9 dog - he was recovering from surgery.

Even though my dad had set up the event for us, he was unable to give the tour himself. He had prior commitments at the baseball field. The boys were finishing up their run through the fire truck and we were attempting to have the boys give everyone a great big thank you when Tony saw his Grandpa Mark off to the side. He said, "I heard you boys didn't get to see the jail. Do you still want to?" The picture below gives you their answer...
We entered through the garage and moved into the holding area. We locked up all the boys in holding - hopefully this will the only time you ever see any of these boys here! The actual jail had a full house so they only saw this cell and one solitaire cell but they were in and out very quickly - they didn't like the smell. HA!

Sorry for all the bright glares - everything at the police station, on the ambulance, the police cars, the fire station and uniforms have reflectors and every picture any of the mom's took had huge glares.

Thank you Dad for arranging this - the boys really enjoyed themselves!
