We decided last time we made this trip that if we ever get 3 days or more to stay, that leaving at 2am makes for a better trip than fighting traffic the night before. While we had 3 days this weekend, we had big plans for Friday that would not be fun if we woke up and drove that early in the morning. So after a Thursday night baseball game, we hit the road. It wasn't that bad of a trip either because it was so late, the kids were ready to sleep and the traffic had let up. Arriving at 2am ehhh.
First up for the weekend - SIX FLAGS ARLINGTON!
We were very surprised that Poppy wanted to join us. Tony was very excited to have him along. All of the characters were out and spread throughout the park. Jordonna's face was priceless each time she would see one. She would hug them and 'pet' them and beg for her picture. And then we spotted the carousel. The big boys (Poppy, Daddy, and Dylan) couldn't believe we would make them ride. Daddy had to be reminded to be a good sport and play along. This is the picture I get in response to that!
And Jordonna's face in this picture is just too funny. I'm not sure what she was thinking or doing?
Poppy hung out with the two littles and me. Richard and Dylan took off for the big boy rides. They were able to get Tony on a couple, but after one that was just too much still for Tony, he was done. The antique cars was a favorite of the day. Tony drove the first time and Jordonna kept climbing into his lap trying to take over. The second time, Tony, Dylan, and Poppy had their own car, Jordonna, Daddy, and I had our car. Jordonna was our driver and this smile alone tells you how excited she was.
We arrived at 11am, Poppy, the 2 little ones, and myself left at 7. Richard and Dylan stayed until almost closing time. I was so proud of Tony and Jordonna. Of course they were excited and at times tough to wrangle, but over all they kept close by, didn't complain or whine about the lines and not once said "I can't walk anymore. Pick me up." Even Jordonna walked that entire park, with the exception of her 30 minute nap that Dylan carried her.
