Jordonna's day

Debbie's was closed Friday so she had the day to spend with mommy and daddy. We started the day with Jordonna bringing me breakfast in bed. I had been wanting to trim her hair for sometime and wanted to take her to Sweet and Sassy so she could enjoy it and think it was a special treat (she was not into getting her haircut at all). Well, her daddy saw that they also do ear piercing and that was something she has been asking for since she could talk. I was able to hold them off until now. The minute ear piercing was mentioned she wanted that too. We enter Sweet and Sassy, and prepare for the haircut first. Gut wrenching cries, screaming bloody murder...she didn't not want her haircut. Daddy told me to stop that it was traumatizing. Really? Then you better prepare to leave without earrings if we can't even get the haircut. I turned around at one point for him to hand me a toy and he had left the stinking store! Thanks for bailing on me, babe! Jordonna came around when the girls started putting glitter stars on her hands and cheeks and promised to spray her hair with sparkles.
I told her, "Well, if that hurt you won't want to do earrings."
"yes I do."
"even though it will hurt?"
"YES!!"
She climbed up in my lap, they cleaned he lobs, dotted them, and counted to five. She never moved and didn't make a sound. She almost cried when I set her off my lap, but I quickly picked her up and stood her on a stool so she could see her earrings. She smiled and started a ritual of pushing her hair behind her ears. All day long, okay, week she pushed her hair back and would show anyone who she saw.

She has done very well. Let's me turn them everyday and put medicine on them. She hasn't tried to take them out, but she is very excited for 6 weeks to pass so she can change out her studs to the butterfly ones her Nonnie went and bought as soon as Jordonna told her about her new earrings.
