Chaden is turning five and the theme of her party is "pirates". She wanted everyone to come dressed as a pirate. Sadly, her party is a week before Halloween and we had already started on a Strawberry Shortcake costume so I was not willing to spend alot of money on a second costume that close to Halloween so to making it work!
We had the long sleeve white shirt, the skirt and the shoes. Tony had a follow up appointment from his surgery so afterwards we made a quick run to JoAnn's to see what deals I could find. They had the Halloween socks 60% off - so I cut off the feet to make leggings $2 - the scarf on her waist and hip were remnants $1.60 and the pirate iron-on $3 DONE! And a fair enough price. I couldn't decide at first if she was more of a gypsy or a pirate but she loved it and that was all that matters.
The night before the party, someone suggested an eye patch to help the outfit be more "pirate" so we made a blingy one with ribbon and rhinestones I had on hand.
The weather has been so nasty that the party had to be indoors, but the kids loved sitting around and hearing stories from "the real pirate!" He kept them so entertained.
In the 10 minutes that it wasn't raining that week, we went outside so all the pirates could walk the plank
And what pirate doesn't want to jump on the trampoline?

Before everyone left the pirate took pictures with each little pirate. Chaden's mom sent everyone copies of the pictures with Thank You notes...so cute!
Happy Birthday, Chaden! Jordonna still talks about your pirate party and has added her costume to her dress up clothes.
