Science Geek

Hello, my name is Sandra and I am a Science GEEK!  This past week, I attended the National Science Teachers Conference (NSTA).  Best ever!! So much fun!!  I loved the SeaWorld exhibit.  (Had to laugh when people from all over the United States kept calling it the Busch Gardens exhibit - in Texas it is just Sea World to us.)  They had the prettiest animals.  The millipede is not one that I will be rushing back to hold anytime soon.  You could literally feel every leg stick to your arm and then rip off.  It didn't hurt but the sensation was there for a good 5 minutes after he was taken off.

They also had a flamingo that walked around the exhibit hall.  The bird thought he was HOT STUFF.  He had his own little posse of workers who guarded him and he just walked where ever he wanted, didn't stop for autographs or pictures and it was best that you move out of his way because he was large (not so much) and in charge.  Sorry no pictures of the flamingo..like I said above, unless you had an excellent camera you weren't getting his picture.

The penguins were adorable.  I tried to take a picture of the one behind the one in the picture and he stuck his head all up in my camera.  I sent this picture to a teacher friend who adores penguins - pretty sure I heard he squeal all the way in San Antonio.

This beauty was LOUD!  NSTA actually tweeted one evening about the size of the exhibit hall, the number of booths and people and mentioned that over everything you knew when this guy was calling!

And so my geekness or awe of God's creation has worn off on my kids.  They both are still talking about this snake.
