August Randoms

This blog seems to take on a pattern with my work schedule. You can almost always tell when I am off and when I am working. I haven't posted since July - what do you think happened August 1? Yeah, back to work! I really only had the last week of July off, but I made the most of it with lots of crafting. But since then work has been very fast paced, with a full schedule every day and the kids aren't even back yet! With the state of our educational budget, we have very few new teachers which for the past 2 years has been my first priority. This year my focus will be "retooling" teachers to new grade levels and working with grade levels rather than just 1st year teachers. I am excited about a little change up, but with that there is always the possibility of resistance. This week was good, though. I had teachers calling all week long asking questions, need helping, and scheduling times with us to come out to their campuses. It's been a good sign that this year will be a good one! Bring on the 1st Day of School!

I posted pictures of my clipboards and journals on FB and within 2 hrs had 12 journal orders and 1 clipboard order. I delivered the clipboard to a teacher and happened to show up when they were having a summer meeting - sold 8 clipboards within those 5 minutes. So I have tried my best to complete those during the past 3 weeks (I will have to work on those today! - if only I had the craftybug!)

The kids have spent lots of time at Nonnie's in the river. Jordonna is really using her imagination lately. She "plays" house - she tells me "I'm the mom." This morning I heard her telling Tony he was "dad". Tony wasn't too thrilled with that. She has a new love for gum. If you ask her what she wants for dinner she tells me "Chicken and gum." ummm, ok??

Tony went to "Meet the Teacher" yesterday. His teacher is Mrs. Wright and we are very excited about this school year. He found a paper clip laying on the floor and bent it all around. He held it up and asked, "Do you like my M?" Cool! Then he played with it a second or two - then held it up again and asked, "Do you like my W?" Silly kid!

In the car last night on the way to my dad's for my brother's birthday party, the kids were having an arguement about how many Final Destination movies have been made. Josh asked if this was the second 5th one. We tried our best to explain that NOOOO they kinda went in order and did 1,2,3,4, and THEN 5. We joked with Josh about how to count to 5. Then Richard tells Tony, "Tony, tell Josh what number comes before 5." Tony - "4 1/2!" This kid is silly!

Well while the boys do their chores, I'm off to finish some journals and clipboards, then my mom and I are going to JoAnn's - YEA!!!!
