We went for a swim at Nonnie's house

And a little kayaking
What you can't see in this picture is the other 20 people swimming with my kids. My parents are the host parents for a baseball team from Arkansas this weekend - 6 15 yr old boys. Walking into my parents garage and seeing 6 pairs of cleats laying by the door was a sight. Another sight was when I pulled up to my parents house you see lots of cars. Anyone would assume PARTY - and today it could have been a Hurricane Party! But every car in that Texas driveway had an Arkansas license plate. Mom had to wash all 6 boys uniforms. Roll call to make sure she had all their uniforms went something like this: "I have #34, 28, 4, 19. Missing 2!" After about 4 hours of swimming, they ate LOTS of sloppy joes and headed to the front yard and played football, volleyball, soccer, and baseball (with a 7 year old pitcher) for about another hour, close to 2. That 7 year old baseball pitcher - he stayed the night at his Nonnie. He liked playing with the big boys (especially ones that don't hit him back like his brothers!)Tony continues this summer to be the most daring little boy I know. The baseball team had the kayak and the canoe out in the river. Tony got his turn and he paddled and steered the kayak down 3 piers and then passed our pier and went to this tiny little beach area past my parents. He actually had the motion down and was able to guide it where he wanted to go.
I posted a picture on FB, more are below, but as an FYI so I don't have any freaked out family members, please remember that he had many others swimming with him, he is wearing a life jacket, and the water where he is - it's only knee deep!

So while the two little ones and I enjoyed the company of the Arkansas baseball team and their parents at my parents house, Richard took the two older boys to see Cowboys and Aliens (gag me!). We were excited about the prospect of rain, but didn't get a drop. Thanks, Don! No other state would have welcomed your storm like we would have!
