Summer Activities

Summer is here and I worked all of June.  The perception people have anytime they see a district badge still amazes me.  In one morning alone, I needed to stop at Sonic for my daily tea, and Walmart for plates for a staff development item. I had two different store employees ask me, "You aren't off?"  Ummm, no! It's not all fun and games as so many people like to think.

The kids stay busy but the few days I have at home with them, we are staying busy with different activities throughout the week.  Here are a few of the things that have happened with the Consilio's during these summer weeks:

1. Tony had scout camp (note to self - post of its own!)
2. Tony spent a week with just him and PawPaw.
3. Tony and Jordonna both had a week camping with Nonnie and PawPaw.
4. Work Conference to Grapevine, TX
5. Galveston Team Building trip - went on a ghost tour of The Strand.
6. Skating
7. Tubular Tuesdays with the church.
8. lots of indoor to avoid the rainy weather
9. lots of swimming in the river when it is not raining,
10. All Star Pizza where when you make a purchase, kids can jump for 3 hrs FREE with an attendant!

 11. Practice fine motor skills aka someone learned how fun scissors can be.
 12. MOVIES!!!
 13. Dress up!
 14. Weekend get aways, like a impromptu trip back to Galveston. Plans were to use Schlitterbahn tickets, but the rain didn't allow that.  Instead we rode on the ferry, had lunch, played on the beach between rain showers, and drove downtown so the kids could see up close the cruise ship that was docked there for the day.
 15. and finally, lunch at Chick-fil-a which usually turns into at least 1 1/2 -2 hrs so kids can play, I can visit with friends, and we finish off the visit with a mini sundae before heading home where it never fails, they both fall asleep!
I have just a few more days with them before they head off to MawMaw and Poppy's for a week. Once they return I won't have many more days left with them.  I'll have to get our Summer Bucket List out and see how we have done.
