Summer Storytime

The day I look forward to each week right now is Tuesday and Wednesday.  The kids LOVE storytime.  Tuesday we head to our local library and Wednesday we head to one in our neighboring city.  It is at least of an hour of stories and songs, then a craft for about 30 minutes, followed by the kids picking out books.  It takes just enough time that they don't get bored, but it stretches the day so that it doesn't seem so long to them.

So far we have made a beach bucket with seashells and real sand!
 Yankee Doodle Noodle necklaces

and a picture frame and a blingy Kiss, Kiss fish.  If you don't remember Kiss, Kiss Fish - this is the story of a Pout Pout fish who learns that he has better things in life.  It is a cute YouTube video I found a while back HERE, today the librarian read the book.
Tony has meet his first goal and is 2 books away from his second goal.  Jordonna has meet her first goal since we took this picture so now they both have free swimming passes to the Rec Center.  Jordonna won't sit the entire time that we read so I do not write down the extra title for her which is why she is behind Tony.  Next week Tony will have his 2nd goal and have his picture taken to post in the library.  He is pretty excited - can you tell??

They have really enjoyed storytime this summer.  They each have their own bag for their books.  Tony has his own library card (which Jordonna can't stand).  To keep his card from getting lost, I hole punched it and used a key ring to attach it to the handle of his library bag.  The librarians always comment on how nifty it is.

Off to bed - we have storytime at 10 in the morning :)
