Everyone's home and off again...

I enjoyed my week in Austin attending the Texas Regional Collaborative Meeting. I presented a session on the 4 unifying concepts of science on Friday that went really well. I got so nervous before it begins that I was unable to attend the first 2 morning sessions, but as soon as I started speaking, all the nerves disappeared and went smoothly. While in Austin I had 2 evenings where I got to spend time on my own away from the meetings. The first night we had dinner, than walked over to see the bats emerge from Congress Bridge. It is an absolutely amazing site seeing thousands of bats all emerge at the same time. How do they all know at the same time that "it's" time to leave and to fly off together. Here are some pictures of the bats leaving. In the picture of the bridge, it is hard to tell, but all the black dots in front of the bridge are the bats. The second picture is the bats as they fly over the treetops. We headed over to the state capital afterwards since it was open until 10pm. I got a few really nice shots of the capital at night, then again on Thursday afternoon, I got some shots of it in the daylight.
Thursday evening we hit 6th Street. We had dinner at the Alamo Drafthouse and watched Wanted. (Richard didn't appreciate that I watched Wanted since he has tried 2 times to get me to see it, then I went and saw it without him. Sorry, babe!) After the movie, we headed to Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. We had a great laugh there and really enjoyed it. I am glad to hear that they will be opening one in Houston this fall.

Anyways, I am home and the boys came home from camping on Saturday. We have spent this weekend getting everyone's clothes washed and packed again. Dylan leaves tomorrow morning for youth camp and Josh leaves for Rice baseball camp. Tony and I may actually make it to the library this week for storytime since it is just the two of us. We have to pack our bags as well, because as soon as the boys both walk in from camp on Friday, we are turning right around and leaving for San Antonio Friday afternoon. We are finally going to go see our new baby neice, only took 3 months to get everyone's schedule together!!
This has been one of the busiest summers we have had! And I wonder where my summer is going...I only have 5 weeks left....AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
