From Princess Ballerina to Ballerina

It took some convincing, but we finally got her to take off the "crown". (It is not a tiara, do not call it a tiara - it is a crown. Thanks for correcting me, Jordonna!) And once I promised her that she could not play in her tutu anytime she wanted, and I showed her the ballerina leotard with an attached skirt, she was ready to try just being a ballerina without the princess. Last night, Jordonna had her first ballet class. Not more than 2 minutes down our road a new dance studio opened last month. We missed the first two classes, but not a problem. She was unsure at first since it did seem almost like I was dropping her off with a stranger at a nursery or daycare, so we sat in the back corner for a bit and watched. By the time the girls were jumping at the bar, Jordonna joined in but waited until the end for circle time to do so again. I'm very happy that this studio has opened. One, Jordonna can start and not have to wait (not sure how much longer she would have waited) and two, they dance to Christian music and circle time at the end is for the girls to pray together with their teachers.

Even though she hesitated on participating last night, I know she was listening because we went home and she showed her daddy "first position" and told him she needed a bar to jump. HA!

Watch for pictures when she finally participates and isn't so nervous. Can't wait to share recital pictures later this season too!

Very sweet. Hope she gets comfortable quickly and has a blast.
