Back at it

Today was day 2 of being back at work. No matter how long a break/vacation I get, it is always hard getting back into the swing of things. This year was especially hard since the district did not give us a day to prepare before the kids came back. During our break, I was selfish and did NOTHING school related. Thankfully social studies can keep the kids busy enough for my to get myself wrapped around what needs to happen the rest of the day :) I am back into the swing of things.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Amazingly I did not gain not 1 ounce over the holidays! In fact, I still have yet to officially gain any weight during this pregnancy. The 2 months I have gained, I went back the next and lost double that. This month I just leveled off with no change. The doctor was very thorough to make sure everything was growing okay with the baby and it is. One can't argue the baby is not growing considering I am 32 weeks and he is measuring 34 weeks. YIKES!! It wasn't until I got home that something the doctor said really hit me. He said we would not go past 37 weeks (Sometime after Feb. 6) since the baby was getting big (last one was 9lbs, folks!). I just nodded my head and said okay. But when it hit me, I realized...37 weeks. Uh oh....I was supposed to have a bit longer to prepare since I have put off the last 8 months! We are now full speed ahead. I have written all my lesson plans for my 6 weeks of my maternity leave, typed up procedures, and still attempting to find a sub willing to take on my second semester of 4th grade science. Possible candidates should know dirt, bugs, and worms are involved :), plus 3 days of day long testing!

I may be back at work, but I now just have to make it until Feb. 6 and I get another wonderful break with our new little one!
