We are praying for you, Kristen!

We received word early this morning to pray for my cousin who is only a few years younger than me. She was in the hospital, had already gone through a blood transfusion and had a bone marrow biopsy. Later in the afternoon, another cousin updated us and let us know that the test results were back and that Kristen has leukemia. I have continued to pray for Kristen, her husband, her 3 year old son, and the entire family throughout the day as any thought of her came to mind.

This evening after dinner, my family and I sat down and watched "The Express." It is a movie recently released that tells the story of Ernie Davis. He was an amazing football player who followed in the footsteps of Jim Brown, wearing Brown's number while playing football at Syracuse. He eventually was to play alongside Jim Brown for the Cleveland Brown's but was diagnosed with leukemia. Not the movie I really needed to see after the day I had already gone through. Of course, I broke down crying. My husband understood why it was so upsetting to me, but the boys did not. We talked to them about the news today about Kristen.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Kristen, we love you. We are continuing to pray for you.
