Jordonna turns 2 today - how crazy is that!! It always happens so fast and before you know it you can't remember much of how things were when they were this age. (so thankful for my blog journal to help with that) Leading up to today, we would ask "Who has a birthday..." and in her happiest voice would say "ME" or "MINE". She is so excited!
At 2, Jordonna loves all things pink, babies and her play kitchen, dressing herself, shoes, and her brothers. And let's not forget talking above everyone else in the house...the girl has a voice on her! Shhh don't tell anyone else because she's a girl and this shouldn't be one of the first things she learns, but she gives knuckles!! Ask Josh if you don't know what knuckles are - all the guys are doing them these days...aka fist bump? Yes my daughter does knuckles!
Here's a starter list of all the things she can say (and there are those that we don't understand but she sure enjoys telling us about it!)
down, chip, off, hot, proc (pocket thanks to her Mimi), rain, juice, baby, teetee, tea, cheese, Mimi, Daddy, Momma, Bubba (Dylan and Tony), Josh, please, thank you, sorry, bye, book, vroom vroom (used for car, bus, truck, train...) mine & my, water, night, no, yes, ball, pop (used for balloon and popsicle), bite, peabutt (peanut butter) boots, shoes, it, nana (banana) short phrases such as "I got..." "That's..." "Where's..." "I want..." "I like..." and we shouldn't forget the girliest phrase of them all "clean my butt".
From her actions and words, can you tell she has 3 older brothers?
**This is a short list of all the words she knows - it is difficult to sit down in one setting and think of every word she has said/learned in the past ~18months
She knows all her body parts, sings her ABC's, and the colors pink, purple, and blue. She can do sounds for cat, dog, tiger, and of course cars. And she loves to scare people with a big loud GRRRRRRRR!
Favorite foods at 2 are cheese, scrambled eggs with cheese, chicken, green beans, broccoli & cheese, did I mention cheese? yogurt, strawberries, bananas and her PawPaw's favorite - plain Lay's potato chips!
With the tilt of her head and the roll of her eyes she can be sassy and charming all at the same time. In the past 2 years, Jordonna has lived up to the motto of "God knew what he was doing waiting until child #4 to send us a girl - we would have stopped having kids otherwise!" She can be a handful, very demanding to her brothers (who encourage it by giving in) but she sure does keep up laughing, smiling and we are so in love!
For her birthday today she is having pink cupcakes at Mrs. Debbies and her favorite grilled chicken for dinner. Her party is a Strawberry Shortcake theme on Saturday.
Happy 2nd Birthday, Jordonna! We love you!!
