Last week Jordonna and Tony both ran fever most of the week. On Thursday, they both had positive flu swabs so we were home on Friday also. I thought I'd make it through without catching it since I had my flu shot back in October - not so much. Sunday evening I started running fever and it finally broke this afternoon. Over the past 7 days this is what I have learned from the flu:
1. Jordonna is not as easy as her brothers when it comes to being sick. The boys always just lay on the couch, watch TV and sleep. Jordonna is clingy, cried 80% of the time, and DRAMA! She drank the last of her juice out of her cup and you had thought the world ended with the shrill scream and cup flying.
2. Tony can not be locked up in a house longer than 24 hours. He is such an outdoors kid and this being indoors for almost 3 days was too much for him
3. My house does not stay clean for longer than 10 minutes when my kids are healthy, but when they can't move I can enjoy a clean house a couple of hours before the big kids came home.
4. I don't do good being locked up for longer than 24 hours. Tony I know how you were feeling. By Friday I wanted to break out and escape, was begging to go back to work.
5. When I get drained and stressed from caring for little ones, it takes a toll on me and I catch the bug (as mentioned before).
AND
6. I LOVE BOTH OF MY JOBS!!!! I learned after being home for 7 days that I love my job as an instructional coach and as a mom. I am thankful that I have that time away to be an adult and be with other adults. As much as I love my kids, being a SAHM is not for me. I do all that work after I get home - I cook dinner, do laundry, clean house, do homeowork, play with my kids, do crafts, get everyone to bed, but after work. I'd rather have the craziness of 4 hours to get all that done than have all day. I know there are people that are great at being a SAHM, but it's not for me.
So long flu! With the lessons learned, you are still not welcomed back!
