4th Annual Gingerbread House Party

December 19, 2011 - Our 4th Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Party.

If you recall last year our group grew quite a bit and my house took a toll. This year when I posted the invite on Facebook to only certain invited people and by the first week the kids alone reached 30 (40+ with moms) something else had to be in the plans. So thankful for my dad because our group was able to rent the community center with no deposit. Of course this meant that each mom paid $2 per child to cover the cost of the building, but when Tara and I are in my kitchen the night before making 47 gingerbread houses, it could not of happened at my house.

A work in progress but here is Tony's...
And Jordonna's finished product. I loved watching her decorate her house. She was concentrating so hard and was very serious about each and every item that went on her house just perfect.

(And see this cute little shirt...I whipped it out the morning of our party. Thank you Pinterest. It was so simple. Everyone was laughing at me for making time that morning to make it.)

Next year we are at the Community Center again because we only continue to grow each year. Corinna is going to work on getting our local paper there since it will be our 5th anniversary. We have grown so much and this truly has become a tradition for our kids. Many of the moms joked about how the kept the party a secret until the morning of because one found out and didn't drop the subject for 2 weeks.

FYI - next year I am passing out marshmallows to every child as they head out the door. I have 7 bags of marshmallows in my pantry. Will they keep until Dec 19, 2012? I refuse to come home with marshmallow overload for the 5th year...haha!
