When we decided to head to Colorado for Spring Break, my mom prepared the meals and I prepared the evening games for us to all enjoy. We knew we would need something for the evenings since we would not have any electronic reception. Or at least we had hoped – every kid had some type of handheld electronic, but they didn’t have internet connection for a whole week! We carried along a few board games, but the best was our Minute to Win It games – 32 of them!!!
Some of their favorites:
This Blows - line up 15 plastic or paper cups on the edge of the table. The player blows up a balloon and can only use the air from the balloon to blow the cups off the table. The player or the balloon may not touch the cups at any point. They have 60 seconds!
Baby Rattle – Fill 2 20 oz bottles with a bag of gumballs. Tape another empty 20 oz bottle on top of each of those. Tape them good so they can’t come apart. (My dad is actually going to try to melt ours together to keep them from falling apart). The player now has 60 seconds to shake all the gumballs into the empty bottle, then back again.
Face the Cookie – The player has 60 seconds to move a cookie from his forehead down to their mouth. The player may not touch the cookie at anytime unless it falls. The only way the cookie can move is by movement from their face.
A Bit Dicey – The player holds a popsicle stick in their mouth and stack 5 dice in a tower on the end of the stick. The tower of dice must stand complete for 3 seconds. The task must be completed in 60 seconds!
It was great fun watching the kid and the adults get so excited but then at other times it would be SO quite while everyone concentrated on what a player was doing. These games are a cheap entertainment also because they used household items and if I didn’t have it in my house, my mom surely did. They would make a great party for adults or even a child’s birthday party, with some modifications. After we started playing, we began to realize why these people are winning $1,000,000 for completing all the tasks – they are hard! I have all 32 games already typed up – message me if you want a copy of ours or visit NBC’s website to get instructions for all the Minute to Win It games.
