Halloween Weekend

It is Red Ribbon Week, so we ended the week with crazy hair - don't remember the "saying" that went with it. I was so surprised to see that Tony actually let me do "crazy hair" on him. He already has next year planned too - he wants bugs weaved into his hair. OK! Jordonna wore her Candy Corn top that was intended to be a dress but I couldn't get her to stay still long enough for me to measure her and sure enough, after sewing 6 pieces together I realized I had screwed up. I still had to hem and make the casing for the ribbon - I knew it was too short already. It still turned out adorable and looks great with jeans. The morning we woke up to wear it, we finally do not have temps in the 90's - go figure, but that's okay because I just threw a white shirt underneath.

We met up with The Fulton's at the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday afternoon. Ok, fine, it was really just Gourd Patch - all the pumpkins were gone. Tony was all about taking pictures. Not sure what got into him, but he thought he was there for a modeling session. LOL!

Jordonna on the other hand, was determined to stay as far away from Tara as possible and avoid any pictures, whatsoever. After about 40 minutes and lots of bribing, we managed a few. We now know why I DO NOT pay for pictures. It would have sucked had I paid for a photo session and she acted the way she did this day!

After the Gourd Patch, everyone headed back to our house for dinner. My in-laws were here visiting and so was Tara's MIL. My parents made a brief appearance right before dinner. I had a roast that had been cooking all day, made rice, green beans, corn, gravy, and rolls. It was delish!! But right after dinner, I kicked everybody from the table to the living room. We needed the table - we had important things to do...

PUMPKIN CARVING!!!!!!!!!!

Jordonna's face in this picture cracks me up. I had scraped the inside of her pumpkin and started on Kennedy's. I told her she could go ahead and start pulling all the guts out. She did NOT like what she found when she went into that pumpkin.

The boys watching their sisters work on their pumpkins. Umm, if these two are standing around, who does that mean is cleaning out their pumpkins?

Tony's finished project - a scary face. Thanks, Dylan for helping carve again this year!

Jordonna and Kennedy's finished pumpkins

Kennedy was excited about a "K" pumpkin, but it needed more so we did polka dots. Jordonna wanted hearts and polka dots, but when the first 3 hearts fell into place so well, all we could say was "Look a face!" And a face it was, with one polka dot for a nose - HA! Girly pumpkins are so fun and NOT scary! (FYI - Jordonna is licking her finger because she snuck a taste of the cake icing from behind her)

And when all the pumpkins guts were cleaned up, pumpkin seeds were roasting, and everyone was enjoying a slice of cake, Jordonna helped finish up the dishes. LOVE HER! We won't mention the 10 caramel apples I forgot about in the fridge for the kids, but they didn't miss them because they enjoyed S'mores (with the GIANT marshmellows!!)

Happy Halloween! Ninja and Princess Ballerina had a great night of trick or treating. You could all see if only mom could find the camera cord :(
