Also finished up our office caterpillar pumpkins - This was the one I found on pinterest. Will have to get a pic of ours from the office.

I spent a couple of hours sorting through all my scrap paper. For the past couple of years (sadly, yes years) I have just tossed all my paper into a large basket. While digging on the top for what scraps I may need was easy enough, those on the bottom were just taking up space. I saw on pinterest a couple of ways to do it. However, those I saw just would take up more space in my office space that I just don't have room for. So instead of multiple bins on a shelf or my desk, I just sorted all the scraps into individual files in my filing cabinet. I have 10 folders - reds, blacks, blues, greens, yellows, oranges, pinks, whites, browns, and patterns (those that just didn't have a color to go with due to many colors). I'm very excited about having them all organized now and ready to use when I need a certain color. I got to the bottom of the pile and had some scraps I don't even remember what I originally used them for. HA!

After folding and putting away laundry, we had dinner and I made this dessert. Again - Pinterest. (Have I mentioned how much I love this site. All those things I always read on blogs and say, "I want to do that." but of course never remember it when I need it. Now I have them all organized ready to use.) We topped our dessert with Chocolate Chip ice Cream. HEAVEN!!
While the dessert was baking, I worked on Jordonna's headband for church tomorrow morning. She received this outfit for her first birthday. Last year when she was finally big enough wear it, it got hot. I was worried she would out grow it before it cooled off again this year.

Thank you cool weather for your arrival - we get to wear this once again! I don't know where I found this originally but I had already made J some of these prior to seeing them floating around on Pinterest.
I've seen them on Etsy and Zulily for anywhere from $17-$20 and let me just say that those people are making killing on them. I buy an 1/8 of satin in every color when it is on sale at Hobby Lobby ($0.59 per color). Then I run next door to Dollar Tree and buy headbands - elastic ones and plastic ones (3 for a $1.00). Next step is to cut 5 circles of satin from largest to smallest. Take a lighter and heat the edges of the circles. Some of the tutorials I've seen on Pinterest say to stitch or glue the circles together. I just used tiny brads from my scraping materials - very quick and just as effective because when I glue on the beads on front and glue the flower to the headband, the brad is glued in place as well. I cut out smaller circles of felt to attach the flower to the headband. I just glued tiny clear beads in the center. I've also use rhinestones and buttons for the center. And just FYI - I used hot glue. (If I put these on my journals then I use E6000).
So after 2 weekends of getting to enjoy a bit of my time off, I'm hoping it is a sign that things have started to slow down and smooth out with work, life and everything else in general.
